Ensuring the Protection of Civilians and Human Rights in Occupied and War-Torn Territories
The Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM), or the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, is dedicated to human rights, humanitarian assistance, and fundamental freedoms.
Delegates will debate how the international community can protect civilians in occupied territories and war-torn regions. They will explore strategies to prevent human rights violations, provide aid for displaced populations, and enforce international humanitarian law, considering the complexities of sovereignty, occupation, and armed conflict.
