The Role of the International Community in Supporting Democratization and Political Stability in Post–Civil War Nepal
The Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL), also known as the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly, addresses matters related to decolonization, peacekeeping, and political issues in regions of contention. Despite decades of independence movements, many countries still face political instability after conflict.
Upon this agenda, delegates will examine how international organizations and states can support Nepal’s recovery from civil war, strengthen democratic institutions, and promote political stability while respecting national sovereignty. Discussions including transitional governance, reconciliation processes, and mechanisms to prevent renewed conflict.
